Blue Ridge Industries, Inc. (BRI) is pleased to announce the addition of a new Sumitomo (SHI) Demag 500 ton all-electric injection molding machine to its production capabilities in August 2018 at its Winchester, Virginia plant. The machine is the largest and latest of Sumitomo’s SEEV-A-HD machines, featuring improved platen and frame rigidity, enhanced touch display, and energy-saving performance.
BRI’s maintenance team worked diligently over the next three weeks, setting the machine’s final position, bringing in electricity and water, and installing the Sepro S5 robot. After final checks, the Sumitomo was commissioned on August 30, only sixteen working days after delivery!
In addition to molding, other services have been added to meet the needs of BRI customers such as custom automated assembly operations, specialized decorating, rapid prototyping, engineering design, and end-user fulfillment. BRI has nearly 100,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space. The company location on Interstate 81 in Winchester, Virginia enables products to be quickly shipped to distribution centers up and down the East Coast of the United States. Proximity to rail car and bulk truck facilities allows BRI quick access to large resin shipments in order to expedite customer orders.
